Driving lessons in Worcester, from someone who knows its roads

I've been teaching people to drive in Worcester for more than 20 years. I know where learners get caught out: the lanes at Six Ways, the junctions around Warndon, and the busy roundabouts on the A4440. So we practise on the roads you'll actually drive on, and the roads you're likely to meet on your test.

All my lessons are one-to-one, and I teach in an automatic car. With no clutch or gears to think about, you can put all your attention on the road, which is why so many nervous and first-time learners find it suits them. If you're not sure whether automatic is right for you, my honest guide to manual or automatic will help you decide.

What your first driving lesson looks like

1

A quiet start

We begin somewhere quiet, away from traffic, so you can get a feel for the car at your own pace.

2

The controls

Steering, the two pedals and the gear selector, plus how to move off and stop smoothly.

3

Your first drive

When you're ready, and not before, we drive on quiet roads. Lots of learners are surprised how far they get in one lesson.

4

An honest plan

At the end, I'll tell you how it went and give you a realistic idea of what comes next.

Driving lessons in Worcester: quick answers

Do I need my theory test before lessons?

No. You need a provisional licence to start. The theory test can come alongside your lessons.

How many lessons will I need?

It depends on you, not on a number. After your first lesson or two, I'll give you a realistic estimate.

Do you teach in a manual car?

No. I teach in an automatic car only. An automatic pass covers automatic cars only; my manual or automatic guide explains what that means for you.

Where is the Worcester driving test?

Stanier Road, Warndon, WR4 9FE, near junction 6 of the M5. What happens on the day.
